Body Scrubs

I can’t go a day without moisturizing. If i don’t I feel itchy. I go through bottles of oils, lotions, serums and moisturizers like they are going out of style.

The downside is that I am also kind of lazy and I don’t like being cold. Therefore, I like to apply either pure baby oil or Johnson’s Baby Body Oil on damp skin right before I get out of the shower. I towel the excess moisture off gently, this traps the water into my skin. I do use another towel for my hair, since the last thing I need in my hair is oil. Most of the time this will do the trick, but on some days I do add lotion to this routine.

I have never been able to use any “in shower body lotions” without lathering up with oil or another moisturizer afterwards. Until I came across two products that eliminated that extra step for me. The first I have reviewed before. Goddess Glow Botanicals Bootylicious Moisturizing Butt scrub. It is not only effective, it is so fun as well. It contains candied sprinkles for crying out loud! In combination with Vitamin E and Grape seed Oil, this makes for an amazing scrub. It will leave your skin so soft that there is no need for additional lotions after you towel off. Feel free to treat your body to the Goddess Glow Body Butter though.

The second i just recently discovered: SkinFix Glycolic Renewing Scrub. It is an exfoliant scrub and body peel with glycolic and lactic acids. It claims to visibly polish, refine, brighten and smooth rough and bumpy skin. Apply this before you shower. Basically dry rub this on to your skin all over your body, avoiding your face. Then simply turn on the water and massage on skin in circular motions and rinse. Result; skin smoother than a baby’s bottom and no need to lotion up after you shower. Best results are reached if you use it three times a week. I will resort to once a week, over peeling and scrubbing can’t be ideal for your skin. It is not cheap but definitely worth the $32.00 investment for a body scrub.

And that is just my attempt to keep my body soft and supple. My feet, neck, eyes, and face are a whole other story. Part of this aging gracefully process; it is almost a full time job keeping it all moisturized…
