Stay Healthy

Stay healthy has become a very meaningfully phrase these days. It holds more weight than the “love ya’s” and most likely more sincerity as well. To avoid catching this virus we all know to wash our hands and stop touching our face! Hand sanitizers are not as effective as some good old soap and water, I have been told. I took the info below, and elaborated, from a letter from a renowned MD. Spreading the knowledge.

Exercising is essential on this quest to stay healthy. It will literally clean out your lungs. I am not making this up. This is straight from the doctor’s mouth. Take daily walks, weather permitting or find exercise programs on-line. I am lucky enough to live in a household with an ample supply of work out DVDs. Try to switch it up according to your mood. Punch out with some good ole’ Tae Bo when you feel funky. Calm down with Thai Chi or Yoga. Give your body plenty of time to rest in between and don’t forget to stretch. We will be in better shape at the end of this!

Stay hydrated! It will thin your mucus so it can wash away things you inhale. Once again; doctor’s orders. I am happy to say that coffee counts towards your daily intake of liquid. Recommended fluid intake; 15.5 cups (3.7 liters for men) and 11 cups (2.7 liters) for women…not sure if wine counts…it’s fluid right?
Zinc lozenges protect your respiratory cells? They are probably sold out every where too then. If you can get your hands on them, suck on them when you develop a cough…
It’s such a crazy time. But like I have been telling my friends. We will come out of this so much better. We will hug each other a little longer and tighter. Laugh a little louder. And be more appreciative of one another than we already are. That is if we get through this healthy….so please be vigilant. Stay home as much as you can. Practice social distancing, there are so many ways to reach out to groups of people from your living room by using Face Time, Zoom or Google Meets among many others. Enjoy your time with your loved ones.
Stay healthy!
