Natural Hair Remover

I am an essential worker, therefore I am blessed to have a job to go to. My state is on a mandatory lock down, therefore my very active social life remains at halt. This has given me the opportunity to experiment with some beauty products and hacks on my nights and weekends. Some more successfull than others….some more messy than others as well!

I think most of us know that oatmeal naturally exfoliates. That’s is why it is the main ingredient in a few amazing facial scrubs. What I was not aware of is that oatmeal can actually scrub away fine hair on your face. Say wha?! Yes! This is another joy of aging; facial hair will be thicker and more excessive due to hormonal changes after we turn 40. Yay!

Try the following: mix half of a teaspoon of coarsely ground oatmeal with one tablespoon of honey and 6-8 drops of lemon juice together into a solid sticky mess. I actually did this with an instant oatmeal from Trader Joe’s due to lack of coarsely ground oatmeal in this household.
It does get messy, ladies and gentleman. Helpful tip: pull your hair back!!! I am always in fear of excessive hair growth on my face therefore I decided to start this experiment on my neck. Side perk; it is eatable, in case you get hungry while you leave this stuff on for 15 to 20 minutes.

I removed the goo with a wet wash cloth and then rinsed with plenty of warm water. Followed by a shower because I got this stuff all over me! Hence, the pulling your hair back part…
Let me tell you; I was so pleasantly surprised. Neck smooth as a baby’s bottom! Even some of those thick coarser hairs, I know we all have them, were gone. The only negative point I can think of is that the hair seemed to come back quickly but by no means thicker or darker. Since this paste costs maybe 25 cents a pop…I don’t mind having to do it more frequently.
I am going to try it with yogurt today….to be continued….
