Ageless style

A woman my age claimed she could not rock heels anymore the way I do. I asked her why? Do your knees hurt, do you have back issues? And she responded; no I’m just too old. F that, my biggest style mogul rocks her stilettos at 80. Style should never be restricted by age, but there are certain styling tips that can help women over 50 feel confident and stylish. Here are some do’s and don’ts to keep in mind when styling for women over 50.

Do embrace timeless pieces: As women age, they tend to look for clothes that are timeless and elegant. Classic pieces like tailored blazers, trench coats, and little black dresses are great investments that never go out of style. My fave a tailored blazer with a tee and distressed jeans.

Don’t shy away from color: A common misconception is that women of a certain age should stick to muted colors like beige and black. However, bright and bold colors can be incredibly flattering and add a playful, youthful touch to any outfit. I will never shy away from black but drab colors like beige and tan can definitely age.

Don’t be afraid of prints: Prints can be intimidating, but they can also add interest and fun to any outfit. I opt to keep the louder ones on the bottom. Leopard pants, floral skirts. The only print that makes it to the top would be a stripe.

Don’t get stuck in a rut: It’s important to switch up your look and try new things. Don’t be afraid to experiment with new styles and trends to find what works for you. Just don’t make comfort a priority.

Overall, styling for women over 50 should be fun and empowering. Keeping these do’s and don’ts in mind can help ensure that you look and feel your best with every outfit you wear.
