The Ordinary Caffeine Solution 5% + EGCG review
I have high hopes. Caffeine has always been my friend. I doubt it will help my eyes but I am giving it a shot. My eyes are a lost cause because I am a happy camper, my laugh lines are prominent. My bags are permanent, I have had them since childhood.
If you wonder what EGCG stands for: Epigallocatechin Gallatyl Glucoside. Yes and we still put it in our most delicate skin right around the eyes. No worries it is subtracted from green tea leaves. *Phew* This in combination with the caffeine helps reduce looks of puffiness and dark circles in the eye contour.
One of the sidenotes by this product is that you may have permanent fat deposits which leaves your eyes puffy, and there is no skincare product that will be able to tackle that. Read: you are *bleep* out of luck!
I gave it a shot anyway. Applied it in the AM and PM. Good news first? Within a matter of a few days you will see a dramatic decrease in the puffiness. As mentioned before; I did not think this was possible for my bags.
“Bad” news; your wrinkles will still need something to hydrate them. Not bad at all since this is considered a serum and therefore you may slap your favorite eye cream right on top of this. Give The Ordinary a minute to be absorbed though. It will also not lift your upper eye lid but I wasn’t expecting that miracle to happen anyway. Hoping for it? Yes! But in all fairness neither is promised in the product description, but a girl can dream right?
The Deciem website kindly referred me to their NIOD Fractioned Eye Contour Concentrate, for the more advanced approach. The aging skin products, which will set you back around 68 dollars. I will give that some thought.
Meanwhile The Ordinary had impressed me once again for less than 7 bucks. I’m a fan! But wait there’s more! TBC
