Make up and Face Masks

One other plus, briefly mentioned in Face Masks is the fact that you can get away with a lick of mascara before leaving the house since half of your face is covered anyway…But for those of us who maintain some kind of normalcy and apply make up before leaving the house; this may be of help to you!
It starts with the prepping. Make sure your skin is moisturized first and foremost. Then take the extra step of applying a primer. Not my favorite thing in the world but it will ensure your make up won’t travel. You only need a tiny bit. Try to find an oil-free one that won’t clog your pores. On the higher end I would recommend NIA Anti-wrinkle lineBLURfector Instant Blurring Primer $39.00. A little less pricey but equally good is N0.7 Lift & Luminate Primer retailing around $19.00.

We will have to let go of our dewy glow for a while. This shine will slip and slide right off with your mask. Instead resort to a foundation with a matte formula, the ones that claim to have long lasting wear. Try L’Oreal Infallible Fresh Wear 24HR Foundation, this claims to be super light weight but also has staying power.
Obviously the same goes for your lips. Gloss will more likely smear so stick to mattes instead with a velvety finish. Revlon ColorStay Ultimate Suede Lipstick and Maybeline New York Superstay Matte Ink Liquid, will literally stay tattooed to your lips. At our age, these lipsticks may end up in our finer lip lines. Therefore a good lip liner might not be a bad investment. Or try MAC Prep and Prime. Apply this prior to your lipstick to prevent feathering. Feathering it definitely does the trick.

Last but not least use a powder or setting spray. I cringe about all these layers, but will gladly promote Laura Mercier again Laura Mercier Translucent Setting Powder. Another hidden gem is a product by No.7. It is called Instant Illusion, a wrinkle filler. Slap this on after your foundation to set your make up as well as somehow create an optical illusion of velvety soft skin. Not sure why I don’t use this every day….maybe cause it does feel a tiny bit heavy to me.
Just make sure you take all this stuff off! You’re skin will love you! And keep putting the focus on your eyes. I have never gotten more compliments about my eyes since this mask wearing thing. My dimples usually demanded attention first….My eyes will always get a lick of mascara before I walk out. The rest only for special occasions.
